MAN's know-how is in high demand when it comes to energy supply for the future. We deliver key technology for manufacturing synthetic fuels from natural gas (Gas-to-Liquids: GTL) or biomass (Biomass-to-Liquids: BTL). These fuels reduce dependence on oil, are sulfur-free and thus, low on emissions.
In Qatar, GTL plants using MAN technology enable economic use of the world's largest natural gas deposits, because liquid GTL fuels can be transported more easily than gas.
With climbing oil prices, BTL fuels will become increasingly interesting from an economic standpoint as well. They are also easier on the climate, because burning them releases only as much carbon dioxide as the plants absorbed while growing.
